I’ve read a great book recently, Soft Skills: The software developer’s life manual by John Sonmez. I borrowed that book to a friend, and somehow he stumbled on a blog course that covers some of the topics covered in the book. Since I enjoyed the book, I decided to give it a go, and enrol in the course.
I have to say, the course was excellent. I had a blog before, but I was very erratic with my posts. The course thought me how to manage my time a lot better, and it’s full of great examples and tips on how to start your blog, and be successful at it.
John Sonmez runs a great site at https://simpleprogrammer.com/ and he poured a lot of his own knowledge and tips into the course. It’s well paced, lasts 3 weeks, and you receive email lessons every Monday and Thursday. He did this on purpose, to force a pace on you, and it worked out great for me. The man obviously knows his stuff 🙂 Oh, and did I mention it’s free. It’s not one of those deals, where the first lesson is free… This course is completely free. Considering the quality of the course, I believe there’s no reason you shouldn’t try it out.
Hopefully I’ll follow Johns advice, and stick to the lessons learned in the course. I’ll try to update this blog on a regular basis, and hopefully help someone out there with a problem they might have, or at least give you an idea on how to solve it.
This was a short post, but I had to share it with you 🙂
Have a nice day 🙂
